Supported Ministries

Christians Sharing Christ

Christians Sharing Christ is a local, global, ministry based in Libuse, LA. Founded in 1969 by a small group of businessmen, their first work was done in a small dirt parking lot in San Jose, Costa Rica. Today, nearly 40 years later, Christians Sharing Christ has expanded into 12 other countries with over 150 supported missionaries.

Christians Sharing Christ is a unique ministry, reaching the lost in a very modern way: through film. By using films such as the "Jesus" film, "The Burning Hell," "No Greater Love," "Passion of the Christ," and "Escape from Hell" Christians Sharing Christ is able to reach more than 1,000,000 in a single year. This approach allows Christians Sharing Christ to reach larger numbers of people, quickly, and in their native language.

On average, 3,000 people will see a Christians Sharing Christ presentation today. Furthermore, 300, or 10% of the people who see this presentation today will make a decision for Jesus Christ. This amounts to over 100,000 decisions for Christ in a given year!

Of course, Christians Sharing Christ doesn't just evangelize and run. Each person making a decision for Christ is given a copy of the New Testament and a Gospel tract in their own language. Names are also gathered at every Christians Sharing Christ presentation so as to allow missionaries and local churches to make follow up visits.

Quitman Baptist Church has committed to provide financial support, as a body, to Christians Sharing Christ. To find out more about their ministry, and how you can help them share Christ, visit their website at http://www.christianssharingchrist.org.

Ed Lacy Ministries

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to tour with some of the top names in rock and roll? Well, Ed Lacy, having once been a professional jazz and rock drummer in New Orleans during the 1970's can tell you that it is nothing more than a dead end street that leads to pain an despair. In 1980, Bro. Ed Lacy was gloriously saved by Jesus Christ. At that point, he traded in his drum sticks for a Bible.

Today, Bro Ed Lacy is an active preacher, teacher, evangelist, and missionary. He has been on 14 mission trips in the past seven years, and has developed several Christian life workbooks and programs, of which "Christ Centered Evangelism" is one of his most noteworthy. Bro. Ed is a frequent guest speaker here at Quitman Baptist Church.

Quitman Baptist Church is proud to support Bro. Ed Lacy in his teaching and missionary ministries. If you would like to find out more about Ed Lacy and his ministry, visit the Ed Lacy Ministries website at http://www.edlacyministries.org.

Team Kick

Team Kick is a cooperative ministry between North Louisiana Isshinryu Karate and Quitman Baptist Church. While Team Kick isn’t necessarily an “official” ministry of Quitman Baptist - it is very much supported by the Church.

Led by Quitman Baptist Pastor, Sensei Donald Rudd, Team Kick is dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the vehicle of Martial Arts. To accomplish this goal a number of members of Quitman Baptist come together to help Team Kick work. From the many martial artists in our congregation who serve on the Team Kick Demo Team, to those people who help share Christ with tournament goers - Team Kick very much appreciates the support and help of the members of Quitman Baptist Church.

If you would like to find out more about how Team Kick shares Jesus Christ through martial arts, then visit the Team Kick website at http://www.quitmanbaptist.org/teamkick/.
